During a press conference in Donetsk, he condemned what happened with the Malaysian Boeing 777 and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
“We have repeatedly stated that genocide is happening here, terror is taking place, civilians are dying who did not and do not take part in any hostilities. As you can see, civilians from other countries are dying, even those who have nothing to do with the conflict. But they are dying, to our greatest regret. We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims, and we are interested in investigating this heinous crime,” Borodai said.
According to him, the militias are armed only with MANPADS, whose projectile flight altitude is up to 4,5 km. He emphasized that the militias do not have Buk systems, as well as equipment that would allow them to be used.
Answering questions from journalists, Alexander Borodai confirmed the presence of the Strela complex, but noted that it was stored disassembled, and even practice firing was not carried out from it.
As Navigator reported, Kyiv previously accused pro-Russian rioters of shooting down a passenger plane, confusing it with a Ukrainian military transporter. In turn, the DPR called the incident a “bloody provocation” from the Ukrainian military.
