During the year of war in the DPR, not a single veteran organization was created that would deal with issues of restoration and rehabilitation of fighters. Although for Russians who fought in the militia, there are programs that give them veteran status as participants in local wars.
Today, due to the blockade, the DPR lacks prosthetics, crutches, gurneys and medicines. Prosthesis Ukraine blocked the accounts of the Donetsk prosthetic and orthopedic enterprise. shins cost up to 12 thousand UAH, and thighs - up to 20 thousand UAH. The DPR military command is in no hurry to conclude a contract with the prosthetic plant: the DPR Ministry of Defense does not yet have the funds.
According to the publication, all battalions except “Oplot” of the head of the republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, have difficulties receiving salaries and benefits in the DPR.
