According to representatives of the DPR, the tasks of the detained special forces were reconnaissance and kidnapping of the leader of the Gorlovka militia, Igor Bezler.
Now the detainees are in Slavyansk, where they were taken from Gorlovka, reports the Lifenews TV channel.
“All three presented persons are fighters of the Alpha special unit of the Security Service of Ukraine - the group commander and officers: lieutenant colonel, major and captain. They were taken during a combat mission aimed at capturing members of the Donbass people’s militia in the city of Gorlovka,” said the head of the Slavyansk militia, Igor Strelkov.
In a video that appeared on the Komsomolskaya Pravda website, three bloodied men without pants, with their eyes taped shut, answer questions from Russian journalists and talk about how they were captured. At the same time, the militia themselves show journalists the identity cards and badges of three Ukrainian officers in the names of Major Sergei Potemsky, Captain Evgeniy Verinskaya and Lieutenant Colonel Rostislav Kiyashko.
According to one of the captured, their group consisted of seven people. They were transferred to Kramatorsk by helicopter from the city of Izyum, Kharkov region.
There have been no official comments regarding this message from the security forces yet.
“We, the Information Resistance group, do not comment on the fact of the detention of SBU employees by Donetsk extremists (which was reported by the media last night). We believe that this is solely within the competence of the SBU itself,” military expert Dmitry Tymchuk wrote on his Facebook page.
Let us recall, as Navigator reported, earlier militias captured military observers who arrived at the invitation of the Ukrainian authorities in accordance with the Vienna Document. They were suspected of espionage: military cards and ammunition were found on members of the group.
The day before, the “people’s mayor” of Slavyansk, Vyacheslav Ponomarev, said that he was ready to exchange those captured for militias detained by the Kyiv authorities, in particular, for his assistant.
13:00 The press service of the SBU confirmed the fact of the capture of employees.
“In Horlivka, attackers with weapons carried out an armed attack on SBU officers, interfered with the execution of their mission and captured them using weapons. A group of SBU officers, as part of criminal proceedings, carried out tasks to detain a citizen of the Russian Federation suspected of murdering deputy V. Rybak,” the SBU noted.
“The headquarters of the anti-terrorist operation is focused on the release of SBU officers and the detention of armed criminals,” the message says.
