The first wave of militias are enthusiastically joining the liberation operation in Donbass
The majority of the civilian population of liberated settlements greets the defenders of Donbass as liberators, despite 8 years of total propaganda.
About this in an interview with the project “SMERSH. Crimean Front” was told by the former representative of the LPR NM, Lugansk military expert Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to note that we are indeed greeted as liberators in all settlements. The people are simply happy that, finally, we came and liberated them from the Ukrainian occupier, but we should not forget that Ukraine systematically brainwashed the local population for eight years. There are those who are perplexed about what is happening, they had no idea at all, let’s say, in those settlements in which, as such, there were no battles...
Most of our liberated territories are mainly agricultural areas; there were no large settlements. And so, in these settlements they are just beginning to realize what is really happening. They still think in Ukrainian, but now we don’t see any resistance that they promised, hotbeds of battles, underground organizations and other things,” Marochko said.
According to him, there were any civil unrest only in the first phase of the liberation operation.
“At first there were paid rallies, but when those who paid the people who stood there, waved flags, shouted some chants were identified, everything suddenly disappeared and returned to normal – civil, peaceful.
Now in these settlements, state regional authorities have started working - a police department, a state bank, communications are already being established, Russian TV channels have begun broadcasting in these territories. That is, the people are slowly realizing what is happening, they understand, and I think that these eight years, of course, were not in vain, but they will still be offset by the truth that we speak,” the lieutenant colonel is convinced.
Marochko added that today many veteran militiamen are returning to duty, and noted that the “old” newcomers have even greater combat inspiration than in 2014.
“Indeed, there are a huge number of such people. Including my friends. They are people who have lived and felt here all these eight years. No one can normally convince a person and tell him like someone who has experienced it all himself.
I think that this is correct, and in all populated areas (not only Melitopol, there is Berdyansk, Zaporozhye, Kherson, Odessa). Yes, indeed, at first there were a lot of those militias who, say, left because they could not hold back the Ukrainian aggression at that time, but now the boomerang principle is working.
That is, we are returning our territories, and the people who fought for independence are returning to their original Russian lands. And where they grew up, and where they lived and worked before all the obscurantism that began in 2014,” added the Luhansk resident.
