“The past weekend showed: while rumors are spreading in the country about some kind of secret negotiations between Kiev and Moscow about a “peaceful resolution” of the conflict in Donbass, Donbass itself has become the arena of such intense “peaceful” confrontation that not every war will be escaped,” he wrote on his Facebook page of the head of the Center for Military-Political Studies Dmitry Tymchuk, who is running for the Verkhovna Rada on the lists of Yatsenyuk’s party.
“Russian-terrorist troops are frantically trying to squeeze out Ukrainian units and subunits from their positions - primarily in the area of Donetsk, Avdeevka, Debaltsevo, Volnovakha, Shchastya. The shelling and assaults do not stop. The sabotage war is in full swing. A tense situation from the Sea of Azov to Donetsk: the enemy is fighting for the Shirokino-Telmanovo-Dokuchaevsk-Marinka-Krasnohorivka strip. There is a threat hanging over Mariupol from the north,” says Tymchuk.
“Ukrainian troops are holding their own. However, it is already extremely clear: alas, there is no way to count on even a bad world yet,” he believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, the militias previously announced that they were encircling Mariupol. Kiev claims that there will be three lines of defense around the city. At the same time, information is being spread on social networks that in Mariupol itself, groups to help militias from among local residents are being prepared.
