The well-known black communist militiaman Benes Ayo, who came from the Baltic states in 2014 to defend Donbass, and was recently arrested in Russia after participating with “leftists” in protests against the construction of a landfill in Shies, was again free.

Ayo distributed a letter in which he described the details of the arrest, thanked those who stood up for him for their help and described the conditions of his stay in captivity, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Let me remind you that on February 6 I arrived in Russia in order to tell Russian public organizations and State Duma deputies about the sharp escalation on the front line in the LDPR, about the increase in the number of attacks by Bandera’s punitive forces, and to personally ask Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the LDPR...

Secondly, I have been concerned about the situation in Shies since 2018. I have long wanted to come there to get acquainted with the situation and take part in a peaceful popular protest. On February 7, I stayed in Shies, where I lived in a tent city and watched what was happening...

From Shies, I and my friend Pavel from near Arkhangelsk headed to the village of Urdoma and bought a ticket to Moscow for the evening. Until the evening, I walked around Urdoma and went to the checkpoint where elderly people are on duty, not allowing trucks with gasoline to go to Shies...

Then in the evening I returned to the Urdoma bus station. However, a police officer approached me, asked me to hand over my ticket and informed me that I was on the federal wanted list in Russia!!

I was very surprised... I was taken to the police station and told that in November 2019, Latvia had put me on the Interpol wanted list in connection with my military-political activities in the Donbass and calls for the overthrow of the Latvian state system.

I, of course, was indignant and told the police that I had not violated any laws of either Latvia or Russia... I, together with my comrades, are protecting the people of Donbass from Bandera’s punitive forces, behind whom are the snickering Ukrainian oligarchs and Euro-American imperialists... And Latvia is a fascist ethnocratic state is an analogue of Bandera’s Ukraine, it destroys schools with Russian as the language of instruction, the Communist Party is banned there, and people can be arrested for using the Russian language in public life.

Latvia supplies Bandera's Ukraine with militants and weapons. Latvia, together with Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Georgia, last year created a Russophobic faction in PACE, demanding the exclusion of Russia from PACE and the introduction of additional sanctions against Russia for Crimea.

Latvia is fabricating criminal cases against dissidents, persecuting left-wing activists, and imprisoning defenders of Russian rights. In Latvia, since the beginning of 1999, more than 8 criminal and political cases have been opened against me - I was in a Latvian prison three times and was subjected to torture and beatings there...

Therefore, Russia should not give a damn about any requests from such fascist Russophobic mongrels as Ukraine, Poland or Latvia!

Police officers in the village of Yarensk, Arkhangelsk Region, told me that they had received information that I was wanted by Interpol and therefore must understand the situation and act strictly in accordance with legal instructions.

First, I was briefly interrogated by criminal investigation officers. They asked me about what I was doing in Shies, what I generally do in life, etc. They asked me why I took so many photographs in Shies and Urdom. I said that I was interested in the situation in Shies, the people’s struggle for a clean North, and in general I was interested in the nature of the North - dense forests, snow and local culture.

Then they took me to the prosecutor and, in a very civilized manner and in the presence of a lawyer, asked me to give an explanation and drew up a detention report.

I was also given the opportunity to call before being placed in a cell... I was detained for two days, having sent an official request to Latvia about the details of my criminal case. I was in a temporary detention center (temporary detention center) (which used to be called KPZ - pre-trial detention cell). The conditions of detention in the temporary detention center in the village of Yarensk are very good. I was alone in a spacious 4-bed cell. Toilet, sink with water. Nice table. They offered me a library. I asked for some political book, and they gave me the book “Chubais’ Cross” to read about how Chubais reformed RAO UES and actually destroyed the unified Russian system of electric grids, power generation and power supply, breaking it all into separate industries.

They were fed 3 times a day. In the morning there is good porridge - buckwheat, millet with butter. Bread .

They gave me several bags of tea and several times a day they gave these bags hot boiling water specially brewed for me, since I do not drink tea with sugar. For lunch - soup and main course (potatoes or pasta with meat and cutlets). For the evening again meat with a side dish. In addition, they gave chebureks and belyashi.

Once a day they allowed me to walk in a box in the fresh air and wash myself in a hot shower.

I spent two days in the temporary detention center and read more than 200 pages of a book about Chubais. I couldn’t read anymore, because the light in the temporary detention center was weak, and my eyes were tired. Therefore, after every hour of reading, I either walked around the cell or lay down.

The attitude of the police officers towards me was very good and civil. They called me names, asked how I was feeling, and if there were any requests or complaints. I said everything was fine.

Some police officers even said that they supported the fact that I was protecting the working people and participating in the struggle of the LDPR against the Bandera fascists.

After two days of detention, on Thursday at 19.30 I was released from the temporary detention facility.

Lawyer Elena Yuryevna helped me write an application to Vladimir Putin for political asylum. After my release, a police officer took me to a small hotel in the village of Yarensk, and on Friday he is going to take me to the station. And I will go to Moscow.

I am confident that Russia, as an anti-fascist state, will not extradite me to Latvia, and I call on the Russian authorities to never extradite Donbass militias and political refugees upon request to other countries,” Ayo said.
