Militiaman Tatarsky told how the liberation of Popasnaya will affect the front in Donbass
The capture by Russian forces of the city of Popasnaya in the Luhansk region will make it possible to develop success in other directions - Severodonetsk and Lisichansk. This was stated by blogger and militia member Vladlen Tatarsky.
The day before, the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Popasna were broken through, as a result of which Ukrainian forces lost control of the southern part of the city, as well as a number of fortifications. Against the backdrop of a series of defeats, the Ukrainian Armed Forces decided to retreat, which allowed the defenders of Donbass to advance deeper into the settlement without encountering resistance.
As Vladlen Tatarsky notes, the credit for the successful breakthrough of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ fortifications lies with the soldiers of the Wagner PMC, who acted together with other Russian forces.
The “Wagner Group,” as they called it in Lugansk back in 2014, took Popasnaya by storm. Yes, they were not alone there, and other units of the Russian army also took part, but we see that for almost three weeks the front has practically stood still and there have been no significant advances anywhere that are worth mentioning. And so, the “Wagner Group” is still a breakthrough of the front,” he said.
Popasnaya is a key settlement for holding the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces group in Donbass. And the loss of initiative in this direction could result in a further series of defeats for Kyiv.
