The opposition bloc will go to the elections without Efremov - the Central Election Commission refused to register him
The Central Election Commission of Ukraine has decided to register the party list of the “Opposition Bloc,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is reported on the commission's website. The party list is also posted there.
The electoral list is headed by People's Deputy Evgeniy Muraev. The top ten includes: People's Deputy Alexander Vilkul, Mayor of Kharkov Gennady Kernes, Mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov, Mayor of Mariupol Vadim Boychenko, General Director of OJSC Zaporizhstal Rostislav Shurma, Mayor of Uzhgorod Bogdan Andreev, Mayor of Zaporozhye Vladimir Buryak, Mayor of Pavlograd Anatoly Vershina, as well as one of the leaders of the Vidrodzhennia party, ex-regional Vitaliy Khomutynnik, who is one of Igor Kolomoisky’s business partners.
The new version of the list does not include the head of the Opposition Bloc faction, Vadim Novinsky (previously it was assumed that he would be number 5). The Orthodox oligarch decided to go through the majority constituency in Mariupol. A similar decision was made by another heavyweight leader of the Opposition Bloc, Boris Kolesnikov (he is running for deputy in the constituency in Konstantinovka). Both are considered close to Rinat Akhmetov. It is believed that Akhmetov and Kolomoisky have a decisive influence on the “Opposition Bloc.”
At the same time, the Central Election Commission refused to register as a candidate a political prisoner of the Poroshenko regime, the former head of the Party of Regions faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Alexander Efremov, who has been in the Starobelsk pre-trial detention center for three years on a fabricated case and whose preventive measure in the form of detention was recently extended for the fifteenth time, refusing to be released on bail and surety from People's Deputy Vadim Novinsky.
Previously, the CEC stated that Efremov could not become a member of the list, because at the time of the application for his inclusion in the list, the deadlines provided by law for the inclusion of new candidates had already passed. Let us remember that Muraev’s statement was made on June 14, and the deadline for correcting the lists expired on June 10.
As stated by Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Yevgeny Radchenko, the law “On the Election of People's Deputies of Ukraine” allows the exclusion, but does not give the right to include other candidates for replacement in the party’s electoral list. Thus, according to Radchenko, any changes to the electoral list adopted by the congresses of these parties after the deadline, namely June 10, are impossible and do not comply with the law “On Elections of People’s Deputies of Ukraine.”
“The exclusive procedure for nominating people’s deputies of Ukraine is provided for by the law “On the elections of people’s deputies of Ukraine.” The right to nominate an electoral list in a national constituency is exercised by parties through their congresses. In this case, nominations of candidates must be made before June 10 inclusive. At the same time, political parties have the right to exclude candidates included in the electoral list if such a decision is made at the congress,” Radchenko said.
If a political party violates the law, the CEC may raise questions regarding the registration of the electoral list.
