Putin's opponents fight over statistical error

More than 80% of Russians plan to take part in the presidential elections on March 18. 7,3% do not plan to vote; 11,6% have not yet decided whether they will vote or not. This is evidenced by data from a poll conducted by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion.

According to data for February 12-18, 69,5% of Russians are ready to vote for Vladimir Putin. The second ranking position is occupied by Pavel Grudinin - 7,5%. Vladimir Zhirinovsky's rating is 5,3% of the total number of voters. 1,4% are ready to vote for Grigory Yavlinsky, 0,9% are ready to vote for Ksenia Sobchak, 0,4% are ready to vote for Sergei Baburin, 0,3% are ready to vote for Boris Titov, 0,1% are ready to vote for Maxim Suraikin.

“The pre-election situation remains stable despite the obvious intensification of opposition candidates. The total result of opposition candidates over the last month increased by 0,4%, and the group of those who, when answering the question about a possible vote, could not name their preferred candidate, increased by 1,4 ,1,2 %. But when assessing flows, one should take into account the research error, which in this case is XNUMX%,” said Mikhail Mamonov, head of the political analysis and consulting practice at VTsIOM.

The initiative all-Russian survey “VTsIOM-Sputnik” was conducted on February 12-18, 2018. Russians aged 18 years and older took part in the survey. Survey method – telephone interview using a stratified two-base random sample of landline and mobile numbers of 7000 respondents
