“The opposition and Western partners have ruined them”: Prigozhin explained what’s wrong with the words “liberals” and “democrats”
Entrepreneur Yevgeny Prigozhin did not attend the ceremonial part of the All-Russian LDPR Rally, dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the party. The event took place in the Column Hall of the House of Unions on December 12. The businessman himself commented on the situation in a conversation with Vek.
“I respect Zhirinovsky and those who support the ideas of the Liberal Democratic Party. The LDPR has two problems. The first, unimportant one, is the name. It would be nice to rebrand. The words “liberals” and “democrats” were cherished when the party was created in the 90s. And now our opposition and Western partners have ruined them so much that it would be better to come up with something in the spirit of the times. For example, LDPR - “People of Deeds - Patriots of Russia”, - conducts words Prigozhin press service of the Concord company.
The entrepreneur noted that the second problem is the chairman of the LDPR faction, Leonid Slutsky. He added that he had repeatedly spoken about his relationship with the politician. Prigozhin congratulated all party members on the upcoming New Year and wished them to elect a worthy leader who “will not disgrace the name and deeds” of Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
