The acquittal of the mayor of Odessa was appealed: everything will start all over again
The head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Nazar Kholodnitsky, filed an appeal against the verdict of the Odessa mayor Gennady Trukhanov and other defendants in the case of the Odessa "Krayan", a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Only by analyzing the content of the verdict itself, sufficient grounds have been established for its cancellation (incompleteness of the trial, discrepancy between the court’s conclusions and the actual circumstances, significant violation of the requirements of the criminal procedural law),” the prosecutor’s office writes.
The department demands that the acquittal be canceled and “a new one be made, according to which the persons acquitted by the court of first instance will be found guilty and the punishment specified by the prosecutors in the court hearings will be imposed (7-12 years in prison - Ed.).”
The SAPD drew attention to the fact that the Malinovsky District Court of Odessa in its verdict did not decide on proceedings against Development Elite LLC.
“This, of course, is not surprising, since after the court debate the judges were in the deliberation room for less time than they read out the verdict, having managed in three working days to evaluate about a hundred volumes of evidence and write more than 370 pages of the verdict,” the report says.
The SAPO also writes that the decision of the Odessa court did not pay any attention to the testimony of some witnesses.

The court decided that it was impossible to determine the cost of the building, for which, according to investigators, the city council overpaid twice. Therefore, the harm that the crime could cause has not been established. They also canceled the arrest of 92,659 million hryvnia, which are in the account of the seller company “Development Elite” and were arrested as probably illegally paid by the City Council.
