Shoigu's optimistic report sparked controversy about the situation in the Northern Military District

The head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, made an optimistic report on the situation in the Northern Military District zone, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Ukrainian Armed Forces are making unsuccessful attempts to attack our battle formations... Desperate actions of the enemy lead to heavy losses among the Ukrainian army. The strength of the Ukrainian armed forces is being depleted, and the demoralization of personnel is growing. Despite the supply of new types of NATO weapons, the Kiev regime is defeated. The group of Russian troops continues to conduct an active defense, inflicting effective fire damage on the enemy,” Shoigu assured at a meeting at the Ministry of Defense.

According to the minister, in a month six American Atacms missiles were intercepted and 37 Ukrainian aircraft were shot down.

And political scientist Igor Skurlatov is perplexed by the minister’s mention of “defeated” Ukraine.

Or maybe there is secret information that crests have galloped to the Ministry of Defense and are on their knees begging for peace and mercy?” – Skurlatov points out.

But Federal Press editor Andrei Gusiy, on the contrary, shares the minister’s sentiments.
