A new military doctrine of the Russian Federation has been published - it takes into account the situation in Ukraine

For the first time, it takes into account the situation in Ukraine and Syria, mentioning the need to counter unconventional methods of warfare - such as the enemy’s use of the protest potential of the population of the Russian Federation, manipulation of information flows and consciousness. In addition, Russia for the first time since the collapse of the USSR and its army returned to the concept of “non-nuclear deterrence.” According to experts, the Russian Armed Forces have again become capable of this.

The essence of the military doctrine has not changed - it remains defensive, the newspaper notes. Unlike the United States, which is ready to launch a global strike anywhere on the planet, Russia allows the use of military force only when “peaceful” means of resolving the conflict have been exhausted. The use of nuclear weapons is considered only as a response to aggression against the Russian Federation or its allies.
At the same time, non-nuclear deterrence of military threats was spoken of for the first time. This task is assigned to the functions of the General Purpose Forces, which are not part of the Russian nuclear strategic triad.
The likelihood of unleashing a large-scale war against Russia has decreased, the doctrine states. But among the threats are the build-up and approach of NATO’s military infrastructure to our borders, and the deployment of the American missile defense system in Europe.
The doctrine determines with whom Russia will jointly confront new threats. In addition to the CSTO states, these are the BRICS countries and Abkhazia with South Ossetia.
“I would especially note in the new edition of the military doctrine the designation as a real threat to our country of the concept of a lightning-fast global strike, which is being implemented by the United States,” says Igor Korotchenko, a member of the Public Council under the Russian Ministry of Defense. “It is based on the offensive installations of the Pentagon, multiplied by the corresponding actions “The deployment of high-precision weapons at our borders, the appearance in the near future of non-nuclear hypersonic weapons.”
Also, according to the expert, “it is interesting to note the use of new unconventional forms of warfare - the use of the protest potential of the local population, the manipulation of information flows and consciousness - everything that will allow solving previous military tasks in qualitatively new ways.”
The concept of “non-nuclear deterrence,” says Korotchenko, means recognizing and demonstrating that our army today is qualitatively different, and that in its current state it is capable of preventing military incidents, relying on general-purpose forces, and not on nuclear potential.”
The head of the Center for Military Forecasting, Anatoly Tsyganok, draws attention to the fact that the new military doctrine takes into account the build-up of force potential by other states, “the situation in Ukraine and Syria is taken into account.” “That is, there has been an awareness of new dangers,” the expert emphasizes. – For the first time, the doctrine included such processes as subversive activities of foreign intelligence services in neighboring states. And the most interesting thing is that we see the concern of the author of the military doctrine about the possible use of political forces and social movements financed and controlled from outside. Which also didn’t happen before.”
