An investigation published by the Kryminform agency notes that Crimean freelancers collaborated with the American publication on the basis of a clearly structured system of fees - for exclusive video material the author received $100, a video report with interviews and analytics - $60, text without video - $30. A small photo report was cheaper - $10, and the publication offered $5 for one photo.

After the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the “daughter” of the American publication, despite official US sanctions, continued to carry out banking transactions with the peninsula in rubles.

The agency published bank documents and office lease agreements in the center of Simferopol.

Crimean journalists managed to record an interview with one of the employees of “Crimea. Realia", illegally working on the peninsula. He admitted that he deliberately agreed to cooperate with pro-American and pro-Ukrainian media, since he did not agree with the results of the referendum.

“Communicating with Vladimir Pritula, this is the head of Crimea. Realities”, they immediately made me understand that this project, in fact, was created in order to try to counteract the Kremlin policy that was carried out in Crimea, that propaganda. And help reintegrate Crimea into Ukraine. I was seduced by this, I supported these ideas. That’s why I agreed to work,” admitted the publication’s employee.

He also emphasized that those of his materials that were neutral in nature were subject to strict censorship and distorted by editors: “I wrote honestly, objectively - as I saw - about the news and events that took place. But I began to notice that some news that was not biased, was not politicized, had honest content, and did not suit the editors. I was very often refused to publish certain news that was neutral in nature, even without explaining the reason. And sometimes the meaning of articles was so distorted that the material radically changed its content.”

He called on his colleagues in Crimea who are working or planning to start cooperation with Radio Liberty projects to abandon their plans: “The management of Radio Liberty absolutely does not think about the safety of you and me. For them, in fact, we are consumables that can be neglected at any time convenient for us.”

Previously, the FSB opened a criminal case against Radio Liberty propagandist Nikolai Semena, who in his materials called for continuing the blockade of Crimea in order to challenge the Russian status of the peninsula.
