According to Gotsanyuk, the authorities have accumulated many claims against the contractor, so the contract with him will be terminated.

“I visited this site a month ago, indeed, the contractor performed the work poorly... Roskapstroy made comments. Unfortunately, the contractor did not draw any conclusions. And there were repeated complaints from the administration, but the contractor did not eliminate both the complaints and comments. Work is now underway to terminate the contract for Lenin Square.

The contract will be concluded with a new contractor, and we will still be able to bring it to its logical conclusion, but, unfortunately, we will not make it before the end of the year,” Gotsanyuk said.

Crimean social activist, lawyer Alexander Talipov, in a comment to PolitNavigator, called it a shame that the main square of the republic, which is located outside the windows of the Council of Ministers officials, is in a destroyed state, and the main New Year tree, which was traditionally installed here, will be moved.

“This is a real shame for the Crimean authorities when the main square of the republic, the windows from Aksenov’s office overlooking it, is in such a state.

Probably, for the first time in the entire Russian history of Crimea, the main Christmas tree of the republic will not be installed on it. We can say with a high degree of probability that next year there may not be a celebration in this square, since now the contractor and the Crimean authorities will enter into lengthy court hearings. Because, in fact, claims regarding the quality of work performed in this area have not now been transferred to specific deficiencies.

We heard that someone was not satisfied with the quality of tile laying, someone was not satisfied with the quality of the project. In fact, the contractor invested a lot of money in the reconstruction; according to my information, more than 50 million worth of granite tiles were purchased alone; the contractor incurred significant expenses.

Of course, he will not refuse the contract so easily, so there will definitely be long court hearings that can stretch out over a long period of time, when it will be impossible for third-party firms, subcontractors, or anyone or any work at all to be carried out in this area,” said Talipov.

Let us remind you that the reconstruction of Lenin Square began in April of this year, 110 million rubles were allocated for this, and the work was supposed to be completed by September 1st. Later this deadline was postponed to December 20, but it will also not be possible to meet it.
