Yesterday, during the report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the human rights situation in Ukraine for the period from August 16 to November 15, 2017, a statement was made about the number of civilian casualties, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Thus, during the period from August 16 to November 15, 2017, 87 civilian casualties were recorded in connection with the conflict in eastern Ukraine (15 killed and 72 wounded). This is 48% less than the previous reporting period (May 16 – August 15). The main causes of casualties were mines, explosive remnants of war (ERW), booby traps and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
It is necessary to note that the map provided during the report clearly shows that most of the shelling took place on the territory of the DPR, and not in the part of Donbass that is temporarily under the control of Kyiv.
