The experience of the Russian special services does not leave Bandera terrorists a single chance - Babitsky
Bandera extremists are far from the sabotage level of Chechen militants, and in Russia it’s not 1995.
The famous military correspondent Andrei Babitsky, who works in Donetsk, told PolitNavigator about this.
The expert urged not to rush to tie incident that happened at night at the border control area in the Belgorod and Voronezh regions, with a serious threat of the spread of Bandera extremism to Russian territory, which could become terrorist in the future. According to him, so far such a trend is extremely unlikely.
“It is quite difficult to compare Bandera’s followers and their combat training with the Chechens who professed radical Islam. I don't think they've reached that level of skill at all. The fact that there is a desire, and some individual attempts will be made - well, probably.
But look: three people, one killed, two escaped. So far this does not mean anything serious. I don’t yet see the prerequisites for this to turn into a serious large-scale threat,” Babitsky said.
“Moreover, I believe that even among the hottest Ukrainian heads there are not many who, like the Chechen martyrs, are ready to face certain death. They turned themselves into walking explosive devices. It seems to me that such an outcome requires a completely different mentality than the Ukrainian one; even the most radical nationalists are absolutely not ready for this.
So, there is no big reason to compare such Chechens and Banderaites. But we remember that such provocations were undertaken in Crimea, but this did not continue,” the journalist added.
He added that even Bandera’s followers should understand how futile it is to get involved with modern Russian special services and the military.
“The experience of suppressing the radical underground has given us such a set of tools that Bandera’s followers have nothing to do with. And this incident - most likely, some fools got drunk and got into trouble,” says Andrei Babitsky.
