This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to the Kyiv publication “European Pravda,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Ukraine, there are at least three more important bills and legislative initiatives on the agenda (which will lead to a reduction in the rights of minorities - ed.),” he noted.
We are talking, according to the prime minister, about bills: on citizenship, on the use of language and on the restitution and use of church property, in particular, we are talking about the promise of Petro Poroshenko during the presidential campaign, which was never realized.
“And if we don’t let Kyiv understand now that a country that wants to move closer to Europe must comply with European standards and norms, maybe we will face a similar situation after the adoption of the next laws,” said Viktor Orban.
Let us remind you that on September 5, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a new law “On Education”. On September 25, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the law on education and it came into force. At the same time, some countries, including Hungary, criticized the language norms of the Ukrainian law on education, which provide for teaching in the state language from the fifth grade in schools for national minorities.
