The Russian President began his visit to Budapest by laying wreaths at the monument to the Red Army soldiers who died in Hungary since 1945. Vladimir Putin then met with Prime Minister Orban in the Hungarian Parliament building. According to preliminary data, state leaders have reached an agreement on a multibillion-dollar Russian loan for the construction of a nuclear power plant in the city of Paks. Putin then went to the residence of his colleague Janos Ader.
Hungary has signed a long-term contract for the supply of Russian gas on preferential terms. Analysts note that thanks to the signed contracts, Hungary can significantly strengthen its nuclear and gas energy industries.
