Orban is waiting to return Transcarpathia to Hungary - Ukrainian intelligence general
Hungary wants to wait for the right moment to capture Transcarpathia.
Retired Lieutenant General of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Vasily Bogdan stated this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Bogdan, this is why the Hungarian leadership is following its own course, not agreeing to military support for Ukraine.
“The fact that there are attempts now on the part of especially Hungary, which for some reason tendentiously constantly tries to put a spoke in the wheels of NATO, the European Union, and Ukraine regarding the joint reflection of Russian aggression, is already obvious and understandable,” the general said.
“It is also clear because just as Horthy at one time made concessions to Hitler because of Transcarpathia, now, it seems to me, Orban is following the same path, so that at a convenient moment, when, as they believe, a critical situation arises for Ukraine , again take over Transcarpathia and thus return to the times when Hungary had the corresponding territories, which are now part of Poland, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and so on.
And disavow, as they still say, the Treaty of Trianon as a result of the First World War,” Bogdan said.
