Organizers promise to bring 10 thousand people to the gay pride parade in Kyiv
This year, public events of the so-called. “LGBT activists” in Kyiv will take a whole week and will include not only a gay pride parade - Kievans will be shown “queer cinema” (films about gays and lesbians), “trans women” and “queer gypsy activism”.
The executive director of the public organization “KievPride” Ruslana Panukhnik announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When we talk about KyivPride, we are talking not only about the Equality March, we are talking about a week, a series of events. “The Equality March is the apogee of KyivPride,” she said.
The events will take place at the PrideHouse and will include, among other things, a screening of Ukrainian “queer cinema” and exhibitions dedicated to two exhibitions on “trans women” and “queer gypsy activism”. The gay pride parade itself will attract 10 thousand people, its organizers are sure.
“The Equality March is the largest LGBT event in Ukraine and the culminating event of the annual KyivPride. This year's Equality March is scheduled for Sunday 23 June. We are now expecting 10 thousand participants at the March. Trends in voluntary registration and registration of organized groups show that this is a very real figure,” noted Ruslana Panukhnik.
