“Orwell could not even imagine this” - an expert on what is happening in Ukraine
The dissonance occurring in Ukraine is difficult to even imagine: on the one hand, Kyiv is talking about a “war” with Russia, on the other, it demands the transit of energy resources, cheap duties, and increases trade turnover with the “aggressor”.
Ukrainian energy expert Valentin Zemlyansky stated this on the YouTube channel “PolitWera,” PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I’ve been trying to troll political opponents for five years, but it’s hard for them to get it. I say: “Guys, explain to me, a fool, are you fighting or are you trading?” Either a cross or panties. It doesn't work out any other way.
We don’t buy gas, but we want transit. We are introducing duties, but we want them to be cheaper. Over the past five years, your trade turnover has only grown. According to Valentin Zemlyansky, there is complete doublethink in Ukraine: on the one hand, Kyiv is talking about a “war” with Russia, on the other, trade with the “aggressor” is only growing.
“If you are a partner, then sit down at the negotiating table. If you are an aggressor, then break all diplomatic relations, trade relations to hell, dig trenches, and fight. Why all this rhetoric and doublethink?
It’s especially difficult for teachers now. I talked to teachers, they say: yes, absolute doublethink. Because in class we have to teach one thing, but when we go outside the school, we see a completely different life. Orwell could not even imagine that this could happen,” the expert concluded.
