Weapons, money and sanctions against Russia: a Ukrainian diplomat told what people in Kyiv expect from Trass
Ukrainian Ambassador to Britain Vadim Prystaiko, speaking on the Ukrainian propaganda telethon, noted with satisfaction that the new British Prime Minister Liz Truss promised to continue Boris Johnson’s policy of supporting the Kyiv regime in its war against Russia.
“Our relationship (with Great Britain - Ed.) is not just black ink on paper. It really is a relationship of friends. That's what we're counting on. Liz Truss, like her predecessor, promised to continue the policies of Boris Johnson and Boris Johnson reminded her of this. Therefore, I am confident that our relations will remain at least at the same level. But we expect that there will be movement towards our political support, sanctions against Russia and financial assistance. At this stage, the main thing is weapons,” Prystaiko noted.
The diplomat added that the new prime minister promised that one of her first visits would be to Ukraine. Prystaiko focused on the fact that her competitor Rishi Sunak promised to do the same if he wins.
“This shows that this is not a matter of a specific individual Liz Truss. This is an issue of support for Ukraine, which has become national. All parties that are now in power have agreed that Russia must lose this fight. Telephone conversations and visits are being planned right now,” he added.
