According to him, in Ukraine “there is no classical confrontation in ideology,” but there is “a confrontation between the Eastern and Western regions of the country, a confrontation between regional business elites,” and now “the forces relying on the support of the Western regions have gained a clear advantage and have managed to concentrate absolute power in the country in your hands.”

Levchenko argues that the return of Donetsk and Lugansk to the legal framework of Ukraine will contribute to the overall improvement of the situation in the country.

“I have repeatedly heard about your concerns about the threat of ethnic cleansing. Your sensitive concern for my fellow countrymen cannot but arouse respect, however, I must remind you that half of the territories of Donbass, together with the inhabitants, have remained under the control of the Ukrainian army and state all this time. If such a threat really existed, it would have happened first of all in Mariupol, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk - cities that returned to Ukrainian control in the summer of 2014.

Life in some settlements located on the contact line, in the immediate combat zone, is no better than the Srebrenica you mentioned. The population there is not only subjected to systematic shelling from both sides, but also completely defenseless against the tyranny of the various paramilitary groups involved in the conflict.

Uv. Vladimir Vladimirovich, your continued support for the unrecognized so-called DPR and LPR does not restrain ethnic cleansing, but, on the contrary, only aggravates the situation in Donbass, destroys its industry and negatively affects the mass migration of the local population.

I urge you to facilitate the speedy transfer of the disputed territories of ORDLO under the control of international peacekeeping forces, for holding elections, and for further reintegration into Ukraine. Including the section of the Russian-Ukrainian border, in order to remove all accusations of the supply of weapons and the penetration of militants from the territory of the Russian Federation into the territory of Donbass. In the end, if you recognize that Donbass is Ukraine, then it would be logical to control the joint border with representatives of the official authorities. How does this happen in other areas, for example, between the Kharkov and Belgorod regions,” Levchenko calls on.

In the comments to the post, they asked him why he did not mention Crimea.

“The Russian Federation is selling Donetsk so that they forget about Crimea. Perhaps we should go for it, for the sake of peace in Ukraine and for the sake of the people in Donbass. About Crimea, I will express my position later,” Levchenko tried to justify himself.

In addition, he accused Donetsk of provoking attacks on civilians.

“I left Donetsk on June 18, 2014. I remember everything! And I remember well how the DPR fired volleys from residential neighborhoods, and then turned up and left. And it flew to people for the RTR picture,” the politician claims.

In 2007, Levchenko, then holding the position of secretary of the Donetsk City Council, at the congress of the Party of Regions stated that in Ukraine there should be only one state language - Russian, and gave Ukrainian a place in songs and jokes. But already in 2012, having become a member of parliament, he apologized for these words, saying that he loved Ukrainian “more than someone who lives in Vorkuta or Semipalatinsk.”

In 2013, Levchenko supported the association agreement with the EU, calling it a “historic document” beneficial for Ukraine.

In July 2014, when the presidential decree on partial mobilization was supported in the Verkhovna Rada session hall, he stated that “the authorities will continue to kill Ukrainians,” after which Speaker Turchynov turned off his microphone, calling on the “fifth column that serves Putin” to stop provocations, and Levchenko was forcibly removed from the hall.

In January 2015, the SBU put Levchenko on the wanted list, accusing him of committing a crime under Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Intentional actions committed with the aim of changing the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine in violation of the order established by the Constitution of Ukraine.”

Currently, he regularly appears on Russian television channels, where he periodically Throws pro-Ukrainian hysterics.

Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Levchenko called his former fellow countrymen “idiots”.
