Stunned British minister refused to shout: “Glory to Vovan and Lexus”
Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus (Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov) published their conversation with British Defense Minister Ben Wallace with two bills.
The first time the recording is interrupted is when Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, on whose behalf the pranksters called, asked a question about the possibilities of secret supplies of British weapons for Ukraine to Poland.
“I understand what you are saying,” Wallace begins to respond, after which the recording ends and a splash screen appears: “Unfortunately, parts of the conversation have been deleted as they are likely to be contrary to the national security of the UK.”
The second time the screensaver appears is when Wallace begins to answer Shmygal’s question about Ukraine’s purchase and testing of nuclear weapons.
“You have to be careful with all this,” Wallace begins, and the title card appears.
It is unclear what these bills are associated with. On the eve of the publication of the conversation, the UK Ministry of Defense appealed to the management of the video hosting service YouTube with a request to remove already posted excerpts of the conversation, as they pose a “significant risk to the UK’s national security.” Previously, pranksters stated that they talked with Wallace for almost half an hour; the final version was 16 minutes long.
Either Vovan and Lexus reached an agreement with the YouTube administration, or this is a form of banter. Nevertheless, the conversation ends with the pranksters' trademark mockery of the interlocutor, when he must understand that he is being played.
The reason was given by Wallace himself, who decided to end the conversation with Bandera’s slogan “Glory to Ukraine.”
“Glory to Ukraine and our heroes Vovan and Lexus. These are our Ukrainian heroes. They shot down a bunch of Russian planes,” Shmygal said.
Then the British minister began to realize what was happening - his face fell. But “Shmygal” persisted, forcing Wallace to shout “Glory to Vovan and Lexus.” The confused Briton only repeated “Glory to Ukraine.”
