The disgraced Moscow professor will not apologize for his words about the Russian language
The disgraced professor of the Higher School of Economics (HSE) Hasan Huseynov said that he is not going to apologize for the publication about the “cloac” Russian language, since he gave the university management all the explanations, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The publication “Rise” reports this in its Telegram channel.
Huseynov noted that he learned about the decision of the university commission from the media, without receiving any documents. He added that he wrote the commentary about the Russian language as a private person.
“To whom should I apologize if people can’t read, if they don’t understand what the point is?” - said the professor.
Previously, a commission of the HSE Academic Council recommended that Guseinov publicly apologize for his critical statement about the modern culture of the Russian language. In particular, he was recommended to apologize for “consciously disseminating ill-considered and irresponsible statements”, as well as to “disavow” them, since his words caused “damage to the business reputation of the university.”
On October 29, Huseynov published an entry on Facebook, where he stated that in Moscow “it is impossible during the day to find anything in other languages, except for the wretched sewer Russian that this country now speaks and writes.” He later clarified that he did not mean the language itself, but the way it is used. The professor emphasized that he considers the Russian language wonderful, but the language is unlucky because “it is spoken by idiots.” In an interview with the Dozhd TV channel, he added that the post about the wretched and “cloac” Russian language became the pinnacle of his career.
