Disgraced writer nominates Putin for Nobel Peace Prize
The editor-in-chief of the President newspaper, academician Sergei Komkov, submitted an application to nominate Russian President Vladimir Putin for the Nobel Peace Prize.
According to him, his application for nomination arrived at the Nobel Committee in Oslo on September 10 at about 15:07. Allegedly, it was after this that the American side nominated US President Donald Trump.
“Late in the evening, after 16 p.m. local time, the American representative in Oslo quickly wrote an application, almost by hand, and immediately shoved it in - I don’t understand why, about some kind of settlement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel of some kind of conflict situation,” Komkov said.
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that this is an initiative solely of the writer himself.
“If the decision is made, great; if it is not made, that’s okay too,” Peskov said.
The liberal editor of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, Alexei Venediktov, did not fail to remind that opposition Russian blogger Alexei Navalny has already been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“That's it. Both Putin and Navalny. What if they split it up?” Venediktov sneers in his Telegram channel.
Journalist Dmitry Smirnov suggests taking a closer look at the personality of the writer Komkov.
“An enchanting character who became famous after asking Putin a question that turned out to be a little more than completely fake. Google it, abysses will open up for you,” writes Smirnov in his telegram.
In 2019, Komkov called veteran municipal houses in Sochi “slums” during a press conference by Vladimir Putin. On the same day, Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratyev called the information presented by the writer “a misconception.”
Putin was already a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2013. The International Academy of Spiritual Unity and Cooperation of the Peoples of the World and State Duma deputy from United Russia Joseph Kobzon proposed nominating him for his active participation in resolving the Syrian conflict.
