Zozulya reported this to the Spanish publication AS.
"I'm not afraid. But this situation is offensive to me. I just wanted to help myself, to help Rayo Vallecano, and I regret what happened. I had a meeting with La Liga representatives and they offered me two options: either I play for Rayo Vallecano, receiving guarantees of safety for myself and my family, or I return to Betis and just train with the team. I asked if my son, who goes to school, would have any problems, and they assured me that everything would be fine,” the Bandera football player complains.
Zozulya also said that he would reflect on his choice and put the safety of his family first.
“Football is my life, but if they tell me to choose between football and my family, then I will choose my family. I’m not afraid of the ultras or anyone else, but I’m worried about the safety of my family,” says the ex-Dnepr player.
Let us remind you that Roman Zozulya moved to Rayo Vallecano on the last day of the transfer window. However, due to a boycott of Antifa fans, he was forced to return to Seville on the day the contract was signed.
Let us also recall that the scandal arose after the publication on the fan page of the Spanish club of a photograph of a Ukrainian legionnaire against the background of a portrait of the leader of Ukrainian pro-Hitler collaborators from the OUN Stepan Bandera.
