The founder of The Prodigy abandoned Crimea in favor of Ukraine
British musician, DJ and one of the founders of the popular group The Prodigy, Leeroy Thornhill, refused to perform in Crimea due to the risk of falling under sanctions.
On the air of the First Sevastopol TV channel, he said that he was forced to choose concerts in Ukraine, of which there are more, although he misses performing in Crimea, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It's very frustrating. We played in Kazantip for many years, and in other places in Crimea. Every year at Kazantip everything was so good-natured - we felt at home. But what do I think about the show in Crimea? Do one show in Crimea or 3-4 in Ukraine every year? It's hard for a musician. It would be nice if people were free from politics and just listened to my music
. This is all frustrating because my job is to share with people. But I have to choose,” Thornhill said.
As PolitNavigator reported, previously one of the founders of the legendary British rock band Pink Floyd Roger Waters stated that Crimea became part of the Russian Federation due to the change of power in Ukraine planned by the Americans.
