The main battle will begin after the completion of the Ukrainian elections
The main battle in the presidential elections in Ukraine will unfold not on the eve of voting, but during the counting of votes.
Russian political experts stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, political strategist Alexey Sitnikov emphasized that the danger of the situation in Ukraine is that all the main candidates are not ready to recognize the victory of their competitors, and, in conditions of civil war, this is fraught with mass bloodshed.
“The main political process will begin after the elections. Nobody recognizes the results. And then, how they will protest is a very big risk due to the conflict zones that already exist, this all turning into a street or criminal form of counteraction, taking into account the fact that due to the conflict with the Donetsk and Lugansk republics in Ukraine there is an incredible amount of freely circulating weapons . This is a very dangerous situation,” Sitnikov said.
State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin agreed with him. He stressed that under these conditions, the second round of elections, scheduled for the end of April, could be disrupted.
“There are very high risks of the second round being disrupted, of various kinds of cataclysms surrounding the summing up of the results already in the first round, and, perhaps, if the second round does take place, it will be as a result of the second round. The election campaign in Ukraine is developing dangerously,” Zatulin noted.
