The special status of Donbass and the amnesty for the LDPR military were challenged in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine
A submission with signatures was submitted to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine
53 people's deputies on recognizing unconstitutional laws on
special status of Donbass and amnesty for those who did not commit military crimes
crimes committed by participants in hostilities in Donbass, reports
Correspondent for PolitNavigator.
This was announced by Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oksana Syroid.
Before submitting the submission to the Constitutional Court, Syroid told reporters,
that the constitutional proposal was signed by 53 deputies, in
“I hope that the current composition of the Constitutional Court will
responsible to people. The first decision that should
accept the Constitutional Court - accept the consideration of this case, well
Next will be a consideration of the merits. We hope that the COP
will be on the side of the state and the people to protect against
Russian aggression,” she said.
Syroid emphasized that the Constitutional Court must check the compliance of these
two laws and a number of articles of the Constitution.
She also noted that “the recognition of the unconstitutional law on
special status is a huge legal weapon against Russia.”
“This will actually stop attempts to introduce any further
or special statuses for any occupied territories. That
yes, this will be a signal that there will be no seizure of Ukrainian territories
Ukraine. This is “no” to federalization, “no” to destruction
independence, undermining sovereignty, “no” to official status
Russian language... This is a serious signal for the Russian Federation to stop
disintegration of Ukraine from within,” assures Syroid.
Note that the Samopomich party, which entered the
parliament with a good result, today in fact
due to extremely low ratings. And internal squabbles led to
the actual collapse of this party, a significant part of the deputies
who is running for parliament on the lists of other political
commands.
However, filing such an application with the Constitutional Court
should be considered as another systematic step of the Ukrainian
Vladimir Zelensky to enter into direct dialogue with Moscow and
reaching a compromise. In fact, the forces controlling
today the Constitutional Court is driving the current government into such
corridor within which it will be impossible to comply with the Minsk
agreements.
