The head of the information and analytical center “Third Sector” Andrey Zolotarev said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In 2017, the default course was actually set for separating Donbass. This speaks in favor of government participation in the trade blockade, which broke the economic connection between Donbass and Ukraine, the freezing of social payments to citizens of Ukraine living in uncontrolled territories, although our European partners protested against this,” the political scientist noted.
In addition, he recalled the legislative initiatives of the “cartel party in power”, which were aimed at defeating the rights of people living in uncontrolled territories, and “equating them to collaborators".
“They don’t fight for people and territories that way. The authorities cannot say this, but, in essence, they did everything so that in 2017 Donbass did not become closer, but, on the contrary, moved away from Ukraine,” concluded Zolotarev.
