Realizing the inevitable, Poroshenko’s allies began to declare Zelensky the “candidate of hope”
The “political balancing act” of deputies began in the Verkhovna Rada. Presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky has barely won the first round, and the ruling coalition is already showering him with compliments.
Thus, Rada deputy Anton Gerashchenko from the Popular Front, which is part of a coalition with the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, is a “candidate of hope” who has every chance of winning in the second round.
The politician stated this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Vladimir Zelensky is a candidate of hope. Ukrainians pin their hope for a better future for the country on Vladimir Zelensky. Petro Poroshenko, he had five years to prove himself over the years. In 14, in order to be elected president, he made a lot of promises, many of which he did not fulfill... If the elections had taken place tomorrow and that barrage of compromising materials, fakes and dirt had not fallen on Zelensky, I think that Zelensky would have won "- said Gerashchenko.
Let us note that Gerashchenko is considered close to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, who controls a significant part of the Popular Front.
