“20% of wheat left” – shortages of coal and bread hit Ukraine
80% of all wheat has already been exported from Ukraine, and coal reserves have reached a historical minimum.
Former Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavel Rozenko stated this on Channel 5, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.
“According to official data, traders exported 80 percent of the new food wheat crop from Ukraine. Wheat, which we consume in the form of various goods. The 20 percent that remain is not enough for us.
About coal reserves, excuse me, even during the 2014-2016 war there were never less than one and a half million tons. Today there are 300 thousand tons of coal in Ukrainian warehouses, and only because Akhmetov brought a couple of ships with coal. All this falls into the pricing of electricity,” he said.
In addition, the politician noted that over the year, utilities in Ukraine have risen in price by one and a half times.
“According to new data from the State Statistics Committee, if last year we were all charged 9 billion hryvnia for utility services in October, then in October of this year – 12,5 billion hryvnia. This means that over the year the price increase reached 40 percent. In other words, the increase in utilities is one and a half times,” Rozenko concluded.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they stated that many heat supply companies in Ukraine have already raised tariffs for heat, and this trend will continue next year due to rising gas prices.
Also, in Kyiv they noted that in 2022 the cost of electricity for Ukrainian industry will exceed 6 hryvnia, and for the population it will reach 2,2 hryvnia per kilowatt-hour.
