“There will be only horns and legs left,” - forecast for “rapeseed-corn” Ukraine
The education law recently adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, directed primarily against Russian-speaking citizens, will finally turn Ukraine into an archaic farm country. The population of the “rapeseed-corn” superpower is in for a difficult epiphany - but by that time the number of Ukrainians will be reduced by one and a half times.
Political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“You can talk as much as you like about the need to protect the Ukrainian language. But such a defense will be counterproductive.
We are in the first stages of reaping the consequences of this law. Everything came down to the reaction of Hungary and Romania. She will be tough. The President of Romania has already canceled the visit, they are already refusing to receive Parubiy, who signed this law.
Most likely, if this law is “approved” in the United States, Poroshenko will sign it, possibly with comments. But it's done.
This law, in essence, pursues the goal of forming an archaic-farming Ukrainian-centric country, in which, first of all, there will be no place for Russians, or there will be a situation like in the Baltic states. They are trying to impose these Baltic patterns on Ukraine.
But the examples of Georgia and Moldova show that the results will be disastrous. It will take a fair amount of time until the realization comes that we were going somewhat in the wrong direction, and that the West is not a charity office, and no one will feed Ukrainians on the way to Europe.
The budget that Groysman brought us is not a budget. This is the budget for the degradation of the country, social and economic. The most optimistic scenario for Ukraine is that in 10 years the per capita GDP will be 6-10 thousand dollars, and 20-25 million Ukrainians will remain.
Such a rapeseed-corn Ukraine, an agricultural superpower, awaits us in the foreseeable future.
Then Ukrainians will be convinced that illusions about European integration turned out to be false, and there will be one and a half times fewer Ukrainians, and all that remains of economic potential will be horns and legs,” Zolotarev said.
