The remains of the Ukrainian defense industry, not cleaned up by Poroshenko, will be given to NATO
Ukraine is ready for the privatization of its defense complex by foreign investors. Alexander Turchynov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, stated this at the IX Expert Forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We hoped that we had stopped military cooperation with Russia and would immediately begin cooperation with our strategic partners - the USA, Germany, and European countries. But, unfortunately, this did not happen. Unfortunately, we received a block from our partners in matters of military-technical cooperation. And they were forced to make complete closed cycles in the military-industrial complex.
And only now have our friends taken the first step regarding the supply of lethal weapons. But we are interested not so much in the weapons themselves as in military technologies. And here we are ready to cooperate.
We are ready and will initiate a legislative initiative before our parliament regarding the lifting of restrictions on investment and privatization of our defense state-owned enterprises. We are ready to go and are interested in our strategic partners, namely NATO countries, being investors. We're going for it.
Here we really count on the support and understanding of those who truly consider themselves friends and partners of Ukraine,” Turchynov said.
