It’s dangerous to remain: the Majlis TV channel ATR is leaving Ukraine
The “mouthpiece” of the Mejlis, the ATR TV channel, which has lost state funding in Ukraine, can continue its anti-Russian activities from Latvia, where they plan to move the TV channel in order to receive Western grants.
Lenur Usmanov, a member of the Sevastopol branch of the public organization “Kyrym Birligi”, stated this in an interview with Crimean blogger Tamir Sheikh, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Usmanov, members of the Mejlis realize that pressure has begun on them in Ukraine and will soon have to answer where the funds allocated by the state in the last five years were spent, which should have gone to the development of the Crimean Tatars.
“It will be closed, they are going to move to Latvia, hoping to receive some kind of funding through the diaspora or through some radical structures, at the expense of the NATO alliance.
But there is one small nuance - the attitude of NATO, the United States towards Russia and in foreign policy in Ukraine has changed dramatically with the arrival of Trump. Therefore, the idea was to use the Ukrainian bridgehead against Russia, but now they say: “We don’t need Ukraine, we need Ukraine to be at peace with Russia and we don’t need radicals.”
That is, now the new policy of the US State Department completely abandons these radical structures. And this means that they will simply begin to be killed inside Ukraine...
Well, let's be honest, over the last five years, the money that Ukraine allocated for the Crimean Tatars did not reach the Crimean Tatars, they were exclusively aimed at financing the activities of this TV channel, moreover, they allowed themselves a lot to which hits no less than the ISIS members (an organization banned in the Russian Federation - author) in their statements.
The most important question arises: why should Zelensky finance the channel? It’s better for him to build several multi-storey buildings and provide housing for the Crimean Tatars, or vice versa – use this money for other purposes,” Usmanov said.
Thank you!
