Left without wages, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers began selling weapons
In the Luhansk region, the Ukrainian police stopped an attempt to illegally sell small arms by military personnel of the 80th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Lieutenant Colonel Andrey Marochko, the official representative of the LPR NM, announced this during a briefing, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Due to insufficient funding and a two-month arrears in paying their salaries, military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are attempting to sell personal weapons and ammunition both to the local population and outside the “joint forces operation” zone,” said a representative of the republic.
“So, in the area of the village of Stanitsa Luganskaya, a police squad stopped an attempt to illegally sell small arms by military personnel of the 80th separate air assault brigade. These persons were detained and are giving evidence to investigators of the military prosecutor's office. The brigade command carefully hides the incident,” Marochko noted.
