Left without wages, Ukrainian soldiers began selling weapons
The delay in payment of allowances leads to the fact that military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in Donbass are forced to sell weapons and ammunition.
The official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, announced this at a briefing today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As a result of insufficient funding and arrears in payment of allowances, military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to sell weapons and ammunition, both to the local population and outside the zone of the “joint forces operation,” said a representative of the defense department.
He added that in the area of the village of Artemovsk, SBU officers detained two servicemen of the 54th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine while trying to sell three small arms, as a result of which a criminal case was initiated.
