“Leave the second class alone”: in Kyiv they propose not to accept Russian-speaking people into the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Some Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine will switch to the “mova” under pressure, but this will result in territorial and demographic losses for the country.
As reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent, Kiev political strategist Andrei Zolotarev said this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest.
The presenter noted that after the scandal caused by the statement of Lviv nationalist Irina Farion, who stigmatized the Armed Forces of Ukraine speaking Russian, language ombudsman Taras Kremen came out and said that at the front, Ukrainian soldiers shoot where they hear the Russian language.
“The day before Arestovich, I expressed this thought. Why don’t Farion and Benyuk suggest recruiting only Ukrainian-speaking people? Well, since it's an honor, leave second-class citizens alone. But apparently, this logic does not apply here,” Zolotarev said.
According to him, the southeastern regions get it from both sides. So, on the one hand, they suffered greatly from the fighting.
“On the other hand, the logic “cotton wool has no voice.” In fact, these people are infringed on both political and religious rights. What could this lead to? If we proceed from the ideology of Ukrainian-centrism, some Russian speakers will switch to Ukrainian. And there are many of them. But this will result in human and territorial losses for Ukraine,” the expert warned.
