In Ukraine, a deputy of the Cherkasy City Council from OPZZH was arrested on charges of praising Russia.,

“After the activity of the political party “Opposition Platform – for Life” was banned, this person, publicly declaring support for Ukraine in the Russian-Ukrainian war, continued to attract supporters of the “Russian world”, among whom he disseminated information in which he denied the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, committed war crimes by the Russian army, and also condemned the activities of the military-political leadership of Ukraine,” the statement said.
When choosing a preventive measure, the court set an alternative bail for the suspect in the amount of 208 thousand UAH. Disagreeing with the decision made on the bail amount determined by the court, the procedural prosecutor filed an appeal against the decision of the investigating judge, since the prosecutor asked to determine the minimum bail amount of UAH 1 million.
As reported by the SBU, the deputy of the Cherkasy City Council headed the Opposition Platform - For Life faction before the ban on this party and at the same time worked as an assistant to the current people's deputy.
“The man not only justified Russian aggression against our state, but also planned to head the occupation administration in the Cherkasy region if the enemy managed to capture the region,” the SBU is outraged.
