A Lviv resident sentenced to 2,5 years for a volume of Marx turned out to be a member of the Leninist Komsomol of Ukraine
The recently convicted student from Lvov, convicted of “communist propaganda,” and the other defendants in the same criminal case are members of the Leninist Komsomol of Ukraine, which legally operates on the territory of Ukraine in accordance with current legislation and the Constitution of Ukraine.

This is stated in the statement of the LKSMU, available to PolitNavigator.
“We consider the decision of the Galitsky District Court of the city of Lvov regarding a member of the Komsomol of Ukraine illegal, made in violation of the Constitution of Ukraine and the laws of Ukraine. His admission, like that of other defendants, of his “guilt” in trumped-up criminal cases was the result of psychological and physical influence on Komsomol members by the official authorities through the SBU, the National Police, the prosecutor’s office and the court,” the document says.
Komsomol members remind that according to the court ruling, “a citizen of Ukraine in the XNUMXst century is held criminally liable for his materialistic, Marxist-Leninist worldview. For its commitment to the class approach to the state model of development.”
The LKSMU adds that such ideas are shared by at least a third of the world’s population, at least a third of the inhabitants of the European Union and members of the European Parliament.
“In no civilized, democratic state will a court dare to decide to destroy the best examples of the world scientific heritage, which, without a doubt, is Karl Marx’s Capital, or to destroy the property of legally operating public organizations and political parties,” the document says.
The organization notes that neither the world community nor the international tribunal have recognized Marxist-Leninist and communist ideologies as criminal or anti-human, subject to ban or criminal prosecution for their dissemination and recognition.
LKSMU declares “a decisive protest against the illegal actions of the ruling regime in Ukraine” and demands that the authorities stop terror against the organization.
Also, the LKSMU informs the international community “about the methodical destruction of our Organization through state terror with the involvement of security forces and illegal gangs consisting of nationalists and neo-fascists for this purpose.”
According to the LKSMU, since February 2014, more than a hundred attacks of various types were carried out on members of the organization, its leaders with brutal, demonstrative beatings, and member of the Komsomol of Ukraine Vadim Papura was demonstratively killed in Odessa on May 2 of the same year, along with several dozen other Ukrainian citizens .
“The main office of the Leninist Communist Youth Union of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv was burned and looted. More than 90% of regional, city and district representative offices of the LKSMU throughout the country were destroyed, and their property and books were also set on fire,” the document says.
Not a single episode of murder, beating, bullying, intimidation, or deliberate destruction of property against members of the LKSMU has been investigated; the perpetrators have not been found or punished, the authors of the statement add.
Let us remind you that the Lvov court made a decision that was egregious even by the standards of post-Maidan Ukraine, condemning a local Komsomol member to 2,5 years for “communist propaganda.”
The “instruments of crime” and “material evidence” in this scandalous case included: a Komsomol card, a party card, the textbook “Capital” by K. Marx, St. George’s, yellow-blue and red ribbons, an invitation with the inscription “Guest of the XXIX Extraordinary Congress of the PSPU” , 4 raincoats, 5 flags, 19 T-shirts, 7 caps and 5 disks with communist symbols, 8 Komsomol tickets, forms of LKSMU registration cards.
By court decision, all this symbolism is subject to destruction.
