In particular, today, July 13, the court found Mezheiko guilty and sentenced him to five years in prison with a suspended sentence of three years and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for a period of three years.

The prosecutor's office recalled that in September 2014, a trial began in Kirovograd on charges of the chairman of the Zaporozhye regional council and the ex-governor of the region under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 294 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (organizing mass riots by prior conspiracy by a group of persons) .

The charges against the ex-governor of the Zaporozhye region were closed due to his death. The second official, the state prosecutor - first deputy regional prosecutor Taras Dyachenko, asked to be sentenced to seven years in prison and deprived of the right to hold certain positions for three years. During the judicial debate, the chairman of the regional council did not admit guilt and did not repent.
