“Petr Yakovlevich Gniloshkurov will represent the LPR at the Victory Parade in Moscow,” said an administration representative.
Pyotr Yakovlevich was born in Lugansk in June 1925. After the liberation of the city from the Nazis in February 1943, he was drafted into the Red Army. As part of the anti-aircraft artillery regiment of the 4th Ukrainian Front, he liberated Donetsk, Odessa, Tiraspol, Zaporozhye, Nikolaev from the Nazi invaders. He fought through Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia.
For his participation in hostilities, Pyotr Yakovlevich was repeatedly awarded military awards, including the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree, medals “For Military Merit,” “For the Liberation of Prague,” “For the Liberation of Vienna,” and others.
