Liberation of Tsemakh: A big fuss begins in Ukraine
The release of the air defense chief of the first Slavic brigade, Vladimir Tsemakh, kidnapped from the DPR, who in Ukraine is called “key witness for The Hague in the MH17 case“- will cause a serious cooling of attitudes towards Vladimir Zelensky in the West.
Ukrainian political scientist Yuriy Romanenko stated this on his YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We “merge” him (Tsemakh – ed.) with our own hands and get an exchange. Zelensky can be understood as a human being, because yes, these are our fellow citizens who, by the will of fate, found themselves in captivity of the enemy.
But, from the point of view of the country’s long-term interests, he is pursuing the implementation of his short-term victories, which may strengthen his rating, but for our external partners this will be another aspen stake, because: “What’s the point of us establishing sanctions against Russia?” “Why should we even flounder with this Ukrainian conflict when Ukraine itself is getting rid of the evidence base and witnesses who play in its favor?”
If Western partners understand that Ukraine itself does not want to fight for its future, and for it this issue is not a matter of principle, then for them this issue will not be a matter of principle, they will lift the sanctions, come to some kind of agreement with Russia, and we will return to the topic of redistribution of spheres of influence. Where the question of Ukraine’s location in the sphere of influence of the West and Russia will not be as predetermined as it seemed a few years ago,” Romanenko said.
A forecast about the negative influence of the West on the liberation of Tsemakh is also published by ex-Azov militant, former Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk.
“Tsemakh is a witness who could bring not only the Russian military, but also the Kremlin elite to the dock. And so Ukraine releases Tsemakh, despite requests from the government and investigative authorities of the Netherlands, and about 50 European deputies...
I watch the reaction of Ukrainians and see that Tsemakh is becoming the first “black swan” of President Zelensky. Indeed, in addition to moral and legal ones, his release will also have unpredictable international consequences for Ukraine,” warns Mosiychuk.
“No one in power will even think that Ukraine’s international reputation will be trampled into the mud and this will facilitate the rapprochement between the West and Russia at our expense. They don't seem to be used to thinking ahead at all. But this prospect is not comforting,” laments Ukrainian propagandist Vitaly Portnikov.
Another Ukrainian propagandist, Alexey Arestovich, on the contrary, believes that the liberation of Tsemakh could not have taken place without the sanction of the West. “Such a decision could hardly have taken place without the approval of Trump/Macron. They continue to actively reconcile us with Russia, through significant concessions to Putin,” he assures.
However, Arestovich shares his fears, the West is making a mistake.
“Now Russia, of course, needs a pause, the lifting of some sanctions and restoration of the economic situation. What will she do in a few years, when she has accumulated resources again? My answer: it will continue to attack this very West.
As for Ukraine, Russia’s offensive will not stop even for a second, it will simply be carried out by other means. The West imagines, and, I believe, Ze’s team along with it, that in these “several years” Ukraine will be able to carry out such reforms and strengthen itself so much that Russia simply will not be able to implement the second part of its strategic counter-offensive.
In the meantime, it seems to them, for the sake of peace they can make significant concessions to Putin. I think both the West, the Ze team, and most of the Ukrainian people are mistaken,” Arestovich said.
