Donetsk, July 07 (Navigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – Ukrainian TV channels and Petro Poroshenko happily reported: “Kramatorsk, Slavyansk and other cities have been liberated from terrorists and separatists by the Ukrainian army. Residents of the besieged cities greeted the liberators with bread and salt with jubilation.” In reality, the picture is somewhat different.

National “rejoicing” this morning could be observed when refugees were sent to Russia from... the “liberated” Kramatorsk and Slavyansk.

The organizers of the rescue of the residents of these cities and those leaving themselves asked not to film their faces, as well as the buses and their license plates. Buses carrying refugees face a long and dangerous journey to the border. Cases of shelling of buses carrying refugees - disabled people, children, women - are known. Therefore, both photos and videos are only from the back.

Mom Lyuda from Kramatorsk has four children. The eldest is a 10-year-old son, disabled since childhood, the rest are girls. Six, five years and two years old. They spin, twirl, and their little eyes sparkle. For them it's just an adventure - a long trip. Luda did not immediately make the difficult decision to leave her homeland. They stopped paying her a disability pension for her eldest son, and payments of benefits for her children also stopped. She is a single mother, they have nothing to live for. Kramatorsk is destroyed. While the militia were in the city, they helped with food. Luda hates and fears the fighters of the Ukrainian army, the “liberators” who methodically destroyed her city.

The family of Natasha and Ivan from Slavyansk is raising three children: two sons and a youngest daughter. When they started shelling the city, they hid the children under the stove. And now, at any sharp sound, children deftly crawl under the stove...

On June 30, on the eve of her birthday, Natasha was wounded by a shrapnel in her right shoulder blade when she was going for milk. If a fragment had hit her a little to the left, in the spine, the woman would have remained disabled. They were taken out of Slavyansk in a minibus with boarded up windows. In addition to their family, there were wounded militiamen there. They drove under shelling and explosions, and the atheist Natasha, for the first time in her life, prayed to God so that they wouldn’t get on their bus. The children didn't cry. They are generally accustomed to hiding and being quiet during shelling.

They are leaving for Russia. They are mortally afraid of the “liberators” and their reprisals. They don’t understand what the president is “rewarding” for: after all, the Ukrainian army entered an empty city, from where the militia left, and half of the residents left.

The militia from Donetsk also saw off their wives and children. Tears, hugs, the question in the eyes: will we see each other? A boy of about 19, just a boy, sent his mother to Russia. He sincerely did not understand the question of why he did not leave himself. He is a militia member, he said this proudly, and then shared his concern: what if he and his mother get punished for this? Better let him leave.

150 refugees left today. Someone found out about the opportunity to travel via gypsy mail, someone through the Internet, and someone called the hotline at the Ministry of Social Policy of the DPR.

They are fleeing from “liberated” cities. They cried all the tears, shouted all the curses and learned not to be afraid of explosions.

Families are being destroyed, children are being torn away from their fathers and mothers. Young, able-bodied women, sometimes men under 35, leave to save their children from the war. Neither adults nor children are needed by their country. There they will be met, fed, assigned children to kindergartens and schools, helped with work for adults, and given housing. There is peace, there is law, there the state does not destroy its citizens - and accepts strangers as family. Will they return to their small homeland?
