Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this on the YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Peaceful exploration of outer space is what the USSR proposed to the world, setting the appropriate, as they now say, trend, direction,” she said.
“It’s the same with the vaccine. We did the first and said - we are open to cooperation, we are ready to produce together, we are ready to study and share experience. They couldn't survive it, it was a blow, it was not envy. This is a blow to the long-standing model of presenting Russia as an aggressor.
They built everything on this - of course, they poisoned the Skripals, of course, supposedly Russian submarines constantly pop up in the North of Europe, of course, Russian hackers are roaming the expanses of the White House, of course, Trump was allegedly elected so that he would make things worse for everyone there “, the diplomat recalled.
According to her, against this background it is very painful to perceive that suddenly a country that is in the same position as everyone else, faced with the same pandemic and the same difficulties, is solving the problem.
“But we are in the same boat. We say that we did this first, let’s work together - they couldn’t survive it,” Zakharova added.
She noted that all this contradicts the imposed perception of Russia as an enemy.
“Once again: our submarines surface where there is not even a sea, acoustic attacks - everything that happened. And here comes the moment of truth, when in the fight against a common evil, a common problem... Yes, not for free - the vaccine is not made for free, and people do not work for free.
Now imagine what would have happened if other countries, in particular the States, had done this first, any guess?” – the Foreign Ministry representative summed up rhetorically.
