The main temple of the Russian army was consecrated in Kubinka near Moscow. The Patriarchal Cathedral opened on the eve of celebrations in honor of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is symbolic that both the temple itself and the holy date for all of Russia have recently been repeatedly attacked by liberal and Western media.

Remember how May 8 The US administration made a scandalous statement about the “great spirit of America”, which, together with Great Britain, defeated the Nazis, modestly keeping silent about the decisive contribution of the Soviet Union?

But the West not only does not stop trying to exclude Russia from the list of winners. Now they want to blame Moscow for starting the war along with Hitler’s Germany!

Here is an example of two American “vassals” - Ukraine and Poland.

Vladimir Zelensky expressed solidarity with Poland and said that these two countries became “victims” and were the first to feel the result of the “collusion of totalitarian Russia and Germany.”

The Ukrainian leader probably forgot or did not know about the so-called "Munich Agreement" 1938, signed on the night of September 29-30 by Germany, Great Britain, France and Italy, according to which Czechoslovakia was forced to lose the Sudetenland on the eve of the war.

Obviously, the West does not remember the so-called "Pilsudski-Hitler Pact", signed between Germany and Poland on January 26, 1934, which allowed the Nazis to break out of international isolation and rearm the army on the eve of the war.

It is known that the Polish leader of that time, Jozef Pilsudski, considered Hitler a “rational politician,” for which Poland paid the price after a short time.

By flirting with Hitler, the West tried to contain the growing power of the Soviet Union, and today is actively rewriting the history of the Victory at a time when, due to age, those who knew first-hand about the feat of the Soviet soldier began to pass away.

Political scientist and military historian Armen Gasparyan told PolitNavigator about this.

“While the confrontation of the first Cold War was going on, and while there were veterans alive who fought, some on the African front, some on the Second Front, there was no talk of rewriting history on such a large scale. Still, the veterans knew how things really were, and for that generation it was meaningless.

But the end of the first Cold War coincided with a time when veterans of the defeat of Nazism began to die en masse due to age. And this became a “signal flare” in order to rewrite history, to equate communism with Nazism and to say that Nazism was defeated only by democratic forces - the USA and Great Britain with France, and a little Poland.

This still coincided with a deep crisis within Russia itself, when there was no one to respond to such calls. And this system has taken root in the West, despite the fact that Russia went through the sad experience of the 90s and gradually began to regain its position in the international arena, nevertheless, this doctrine has not gone away and continues to exist.

The West is trying to achieve a common understanding that there were two universal evils - Stalin and Hitler, and there was such kindness and morality in the person of the allies, they are doing this...

However, several Her Majesty's Army pilots are still alive in England, and they they directly say that the Soviets made the main contribution to the defeat of Nazism. This is such a very symbolic act, and many thanks to them for this,” said Gasparyan.

Today's attempts to rewrite history are aimed at depriving Russia of its future, and in this context, Russians need internal unity, says military historian Yevgeny Norin.

“The politics of memory is, first of all, politics, the main emphasis on this word. History in the social dimension is constantly used to push through some current concepts.

In the current political situation, Russia is a fairly active player whose areas of interest overlap with other countries. In Eastern European countries, in general, identity politics is very much tied to anti-Soviet underground figures who, among other things, served the Nazis. Naturally, this is also a painful moment for them.

Of course, the West is interested in highlighting its role in the defeat of fascism and its suffering. For us, from this point of view, there is only one real threat - if we ourselves accept this picture.

Revisionism of the West is inevitable, but for us the main thing is how we see this situation. It is necessary to correctly place the emphasis and create a consistent picture, first of all, for our compatriots.

First of all, this ideological dispute is aimed at ourselves - how we feel about this, how united we are by this history, how important certain stories of the past are for us, and how we treat them,” Noreen said.

According to Gasparyan, the preservation of historical memory and continuity of generations today are the most important tasks for Russia. Therefore, the opening of the main temple of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Patriot Park, where the “Road of Memory” gallery is being created, 1418 steps long, symbolizing the 1418 days and nights during which the hostilities lasted, is a significant event.

“It seems to me that this event is deeply symbolic. It simply shows, in a certain sense, the continuity of the country's history. A story that began not in 1917, but indeed earlier, a story in which there is a place for everyone - both the Knights of St. George and the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. This temple unites everyone; it is a symbol of the country’s main ally - the Armed Forces. Of course, its discovery is a very serious milestone in history,” Gasparyan emphasized.
