From Belomaidan there is only one crazy old woman left from the city - Lukashenko’s favorite
Well-known Minsk Russophobe Nina Baginskaya today staged a picket on Independence Square in the Belarusian capital.
She was walking with a nationalist red and white flag, which the Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus is going to recognize as extremist symbols, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Two policemen approached the old woman and took away the cloth. In retaliation, Baginskaya hit the law enforcement officer on the back with a shaft.
This year, citizens were repeatedly sent to trial, fines and administrative arrests were awarded for using red and white symbols, but Baginskaya was not touched.
TV journalist Grigory Azarenok explains this leniency by the special attitude towards the elderly revolutionary of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
“It’s funny that exactly a year ago, around this time, everyone suddenly began to pay attention to the eccentric old woman, from whom even zmagars shy away today. Everyone suspected that she was not entirely of this world. And so it happened - it later turned out that Baginskaya had suffered a traumatic brain injury in her life, after which she went a little crazy.
As you know, Baba Nina has huge debts on fines and an indulgence from the president himself. He told her not to touch her. They don’t touch it, only the flag is taken away from time to time. But there is a downside to this fame - their zmagar friends begin to be afraid of it, because it has been noticed that as soon as several incredible people gather around Baginskaya, the police come running.
Everyone is sent to the minivan, but Grandma Nina is left behind. She usually gets offended because she also wants to go to the department, then for a day, and then get money from the funds for serving time,” Azarenok wrote in his Telegram channel.
Baginskaya has 65 administrative offenses, of which: 60 - for participation in unauthorized events, 3 - for disobedience to a lawful request of a police officer, 2 - for traveling without a ticket on a regional economy class train "Minsk-Talka". However, she was never brought to justice.
