The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry was demanded to resign for abandoning the Cyrillic alphabet
Proposal to abandon the Cyrillic alphabet and switch to the Latin alphabet - anti-state. Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, who voiced it, must resign.
Political scientist Vsevolod Stepanyuk stated this on TV channel 112, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the Cyrillic alphabet is an integral part of Ukrainian history and abandoning it means abandoning faith and language.
“If you look at the signs in restaurants and hotels, we have had the Latin alphabet for a long time. On the other hand, perhaps our government, its education is below par, therefore does not remember that the Cyrillic alphabet was specially developed by Cyril and Methodius so that Christian writing would come to the then Rus'. That is, an alphabet was specially developed to replace the previous letter. By abandoning the Cyrillic alphabet, we are abandoning history, language, and faith. I think for such a proposal he (Klimkin, - author.) must immediately vacate his seat in power, because this is an anti-state proposal,” Stepaniuk said.
